New York, NY | The CUNY Athletic Conference released the list of 2017 Community College Baseball All-Stars this past week. Panthers shortstop
Maximo Garcia was voted as the Rookie of the Year, the conference's top honor for freshmen players. He was joined on the All-Star team by his BMCC teammate and fellow infielder,
Christopher Rodriguez.
The honor was well-deserved for the freshman Garcia after he led the team with a .297 batting average and finished 5th in the nation with 28 steals this season. Rodriguez was a dynamic weapon for BMCC this season, the Panthers'Â utility player led the offense in hits and runs batted in, while posting a 4.37 ERA in seven appearances on the mound.
